Transport planning and infrastructure engineering consultancy Andrew Moseley Associates (AMA) has continued its strategic expansion into the North East with the appointment of Jonny Hocke as Senior Transport Planner, based in the firm’s newly opened Newcastle office at Haylofts.

Jonny joins AMA from SYSTRA, where he spent nearly six years progressing from Graduate to Senior Consultant. During this time, he worked on a wide range of development planning projects for both public and private sector clients, supporting schemes from initial concept through to delivery. Skilled in TEMPro, LinSig, Junctions and GIS, Jonny’s technical expertise and understanding of local transport challenges make him a valuable addition to AMA’s growing team.

Born and raised in Sedgefield, Jonny brings a strong local connection and passion for the North East to his new role. After studying at Northumbria University, he spent several years working across the region before returning to Sedgefield, where he continues to live.

Jonny’s appointment follows AMA’s recent move into Newcastle, marking a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing growth. The new office strengthens AMA’s national presence, enabling closer collaboration with clients, consultants and planning authorities across the wider region.

Andrew Moseley, Managing Director of AMA, said: “Jonny’s appointment represents another important step in building our team and capacity in this part of the country. His local knowledge, technical capability and enthusiasm for the area are a perfect fit for our plans as we continue to expand our client base and support major development projects.”

Jonny Hocke added: “With my roots firmly in the region, I’m proud to be joining a growing business that’s investing locally. It’s exciting to be part of AMA’s expansion in Newcastle and to contribute to the transport and infrastructure projects that will help shape the area’s future.”

AMA’s new office forms part of the consultancy’s wider growth strategy, supporting increasing demand for transport planning and engineering services across the UK. The firm, which has achieved a 99% success rate in securing planning consents, continues to advise major clients including Aldi, McDonald’s, national housebuilders, and commercial developers.
