We were established in 2013 by the UK Government, as part of a network of Catapults set up by InnovateUK in high growth industries. Our mission is to deliver the UK’s largest clean growth opportunity by accelerating the creation an growth of UK companies in offshore renewable energy.
What is a Catapult?
- Spear-headed by the Catapult Network and established by InnovateUK, there are eight leading technology and innovation centres spanning over 50 locations that deliver impact across the UK economy.
- A not-for-profit private organisation, the Catapults work with thousands of businesses across a wide range of sectors, including: manufacturing, energy, transport, space, health, digital, telecoms, and many others.
- The Catapult Networks bridge the gap between research and industry by combining their knowledge, infrastructure, and collaboration to make innovative industries productive and sustainable.
They play a key role in delivering the UK’s largest clean growth opportunity, and use their unique facilities and research and engineering capabilities to bring together industry and academia and drive innovation in renewable energy.
