Invest Newcastle: UKREiiF Events Programme

From Tuesday 17-Thursday 19 May, Invest Newcastle is leading a delegation of public and private sector organisations to the inaugral UK’s Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF) in Leeds. The event will bring together more than 4,000 delegates from core cities and regions from across the UK alongside ministers, MP’s, investors, funders, developers, occupiers and key decision makers with the aim of accelerating the Levelling Up Agenda and unlocking sustainable, inclusive and transformational investment.

Alongside a full agenda, the Invest Newcastle delegation is hosting a series of events to showcase the exciting investment and development opportunities available in the region across key strategic sectors, health and life sciences, visitor economy and digital and tech.


Tuesday 17 May, 13:45-14:45 Invest Newcastle: Transformational Opportunities

Demonstrating confidence in the future of the North East of England, the region has been attracting attention from national and global investors who are committed to making a social and economic impact, as well as levelling up the UK.

Three transformational projects are in the pipeline including a £300m investment into Newcastle United Football Club, a £350m investment in ‘The Sage’ an international venue for world class business and entertainment and £25m investment from BBC over the next five years.

This event will put a spotlight on these investments and discuss their role in the region’s future. This event is sponsored by transatlantic law firm Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) who have 27 offices across the UK and US. They have deep roots in the North East, noting the city as one of the best places in the UK to live, work and do business.

Thursday 19 May, 09:15-10:15 Healthy ageing and living: a global investment opportunity

Newcastle University has a global reputation for research excellence in healthy ageing. To further cement this position, they have ambitious plans for a new 29-acre development built on former hospital site. It will link research and innovation and provide unique solutions for living, leisure, learning and employment as we grow older.
