A Newcastleborn businessman has returned to the region to launch the UK arm of a successful global skills training business, PROTRAINING.
Launching at The Regent Centre in Gosforth, the expansion of PROTRAINING has been supported by Invest Newcastle’s Land:In Soft Landing Programme, which is a free service designed to make it easy to enter the UK and European market and is exclusively for overseas businesses wanting to establish a long-term presence in the city.
Having spent nine years in the Middle East, and the last six growing PROTRAINING in the United Arab Emirates working with partners such as Nestlé, Emirates Airlines and ShellIan Murray, MD of PROTRAINING UK, said: “I’m truly delighted to be bringing this exciting business model not just to the UK, but home to Newcastle. The city has changed a lot since I last lived here, and it’s a fantastic place for PROTRAINING to start building its presence in the UK market.”
Ian further remarked, “With over 18,000 professional services organisations in the region and a 33 per cent growth in corporate service sectors in the North East over the last ten years, Newcastle is a growing city of choice for overseas organisations who are looking to expand their services in the UK and a popular base to work with local and national businesses.”
Catherine Walker, Inward Investment Director at Invest Newcastle said: “PROTRAINING is the latest in a succession of international businesses who have chosen Newcastle to expand or enter the UK market, further positioning Newcastle to compete alongside other major global cities as a modern, innovative and business-savvy location.
“Our soft-landing programme is designed to give overseas companies looking to expand or relocate into the City access to essential support services. Not only does it provide very practical help, it extends a welcome into the local business community, helping them feel at home and well-networked.”
Through the programme, PROTRAINING has also worked with several Invest Newcastle partners to make the move to the region a smooth one.
Ward Hadaway has supplied free company incorporation and legal advice with the North East England Chamber of Commerce offering discounted membership for 6 months. Regent Centre-based Omnia Offices have provided office space at a reduced cost, and PROTRAINING have been able to assess the market place thanks to discounted market research services offered by NGI Solutions.
PROTRAINING is officially set to launch in Newcastle with a Breakfast Event at St. James Park on Friday 29th September 2017.  The timing will be from 08:30am through 11:30am and will be held at the Centenary Suite at StJames Park.
The launch will be open to key decision makers from leading organisations who value their people and see development as a fundamental aspect of their business success.
Ian said, “We plan to demonstrate a new way of learning with quality and fun at the core. Attendees of the event will walk away with a fresh idea of how a training partner can develop and enhance their teams and individuals, and make training less of a ‘routine tick in the box’ but more of a day of learning, enjoyment and best practice.”
