Newcastle headquartered recruitment business NRG, part of the Galago Group, has revealed plans to move its flagship offices to the NEON building at Quorum Park.

The firm is relocating from their Grey Street address after spending more than 40 years in the city centre as it continues its investment into NRG and greenbean businesses.

The relocation sees the business sign a 10-year lease on 9400 sq ft of office space at the NEON building in a deal secured by Quorum’s joint agents Avison Young and Cushman & Wakefield.

Further recent investments have included a significant IT transformation project which has seen all physical servers move to the Cloud, upgraded cyber security and disaster recovery systems and new hardware for all staff enabling agile working and wider use of video interviewing.

They have also completed an overhaul to the greenbean website to include a fresh new look, sector specific insights, and up to date case studies.

Mark Smales, Finance Director at NRG who has been leading the move comments “We are delighted to acquire a long-term lease at the NEON building. The set up at Quorum enables us to design an office that combines modern facilities with the recent tech investments, providing greater flexibility to both our own staff and our client offerings.

“The NEON building combines grade A office space with all the amenities and accessibility of a modern workplace and will create an improved experience for our colleagues, clients and candidates.

“The move will allow us to grow a more sustainable business that facilitates our next phase of growth.”

Brian Rabinowitz, director of Shelborn Asset Management, which acquired around 50% of Quorum Park in 2019 commented: “NRG is a leading name in recruitment in the North East and we are delighted the firm has identified Quorum as the ideal location to accommodate its future growth”.

Therese Liddle CEO at NRG and greenbean added “We have always remained agile and willing to make bold decisions to deliver investments as we anticipate the changing trends and opportunities in our markets.

The City Centre was a great place for NRG for many years but as we grow and offer clients more agile solutions identified even before the Covid19 crisis a shift in the way businesses recruit. Many clients choose to use digital and remote interview tools meaning it is no longer essential for candidates to come to a city centre location.

We look forward to welcoming clients and candidates both virtually and physically to our new offices

“The NEON building perfectly complements our brand and vision, allowing us to drive our business forward and facilitate our next phase of growth, while giving our teams a brilliant vibrant place to work ”
