NewcastleGateshead Initiative (NGI) has launched its campaign to bring together public and private sector partners to promote key development projects on the international stage at MIPIM 2025.
The plans for the Invest Newcastle MIPIM delegation were unveiled at a special breakfast meeting at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music, featuring talks from key city leaders on their ambition to grow the North East economy.
NGI has led delegations to MIPIM, one of the world’s largest real estate investment conferences, since 2015 and will be joined by Newcastle City Council and Gateshead Council, as well as private businesses such as Ryder Architecture, Avison Young, NCG, Eldon Square and Gainford Group.
The MIPIM 2025 delegation will focus on showcasing a portfolio of major projects and investment opportunities that highlight the city’s strengths as well as its track record of delivery, with transformative schemes such as Newcastle Helix and Pilgrim Street now approaching completion.
In addition to promoting investment-ready opportunities, the delegation will also champion the city’s well-earned reputation for collaboration, which has been a critical factor in driving inward investment flows in recent years.
NGI will host a packed programme of panel discussions, presentations, and networking events in the Invest Newcastle pavilion at MIPIM, providing a unique platform to connect with global investors and decision-makers from across the real estate supply chain.
Sarah Green, Chief Executive, NGI, said: “MIPIM is a powerful platform to showcase our incredible potential on a global stage. By bringing together public and private sector partners, we amplify the message that Newcastle and Gateshead are destinations for ambitious and transformative investment.”
Michelle Percy, Director of Investment and Growth, Newcastle City Council, said: “Newcastle’s transformation over the years is a testament to our strong working relationships across sectors and MIPIM provides us with a unique opportunity to present the city’s exceptional assets and opportunities directly to investors and influencers.
“By working in close partnership with our business community and NGI, we can ensure that Newcastle remains at the forefront of sustainable urban growth.”
Anneliese Hutchinson, Strategic Director for Economy, Innovation and Growth, Gateshead Council, said: “We believe Gateshead is on the cusp of significant, sustainable growth. We have clear, deliverable regeneration plans that are bringing a lot of great sites to the market, and MIPIM allows us to directly engage with investors and developers on these opportunities.
“It’s a chance to not only attract investment but to build relationships that ultimately allow everyone to achieve their economic, social and environmental aspirations.”
