One of Newcastle’s most prominent office buildings will become home to a global top 10 law firm next month when it relocates its Newcastle team to newly refurbished Grade A office space.
Eversheds Sutherland has signed a lease at Wellbar Central, the 10-storey office building on Gallowgate close to St. James’ Park.
Eversheds Sutherland provides legal services to its international client base from over 70 offices in more than 30 countries across Europe, the Middle East, the United States, Asia and Africa. The firm will take occupation of its new office accommodation on the 8th floor of Wellbar Central in July.
A £1m programme of works was recently initiated to elevate the building’s environmental credentials following a rise in demand for ‘best in class’ workspace. The investment includes the installation of new heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
Wellbar Central, which is already home to high-profile organisations such as Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, Global Radio, Turnitin, and Sky, as well as XPS Pension Group and Advance Business Software, comprises 118,000 sq. ft. of Grade A office accommodation.
The vacant 9th floor, which extends to 11,354 sq. ft of open plan office space, is undergoing refurbishment and will offer occupiers unrivalled views across one of the city’s most vibrant developing neighbourhoods when work completes in August.
There is also a fourth-floor suite of 2,634 sq. ft. available, with 24 workstations, an eight-person meeting room, kitchen, and additional collaboration, meeting and break out spaces.
